About Us
Joy is the birthplace of a mental health support, social action, arts and culture third space. Based in Hamilton Square, Birkenhead, we are a multipurpose community hub.
Joy opened in summer 2026, using lots of love and human connection. The Wirral community came together to breathe new life, colour, and energy into a part of the world that is rich in history, heritage, and human stories with an emerging cultural and wellbeing agenda. The start of this was to work with young people from the OOMOO project to rip up, smash and paint bomb the building to ignite its colourful future.
